THE BLASTPHEMY A Feature documentary SYNOPSIS Filmmaker Haris Sheikh unravels the Holiness of Muhammad the Prophet over the controversy of, ‘Blasphemous Danish Cartoons’ in a flash of mystical visuals never seen before. Muslim already traumatized by the 9/11’s tragedies of,’ War on Terrorism’, took these cartoons as hateful and insulting. Respect of Prophet Muhammad and the Western concept of Right of freedom of speech became the core issue. Millions came out on the streets; protests became deadly violent, and many people in the West still wonder over Muslim's unprecedented reaction for just a few lines of caricatures. "THE BLASTPHEMY", documentary represents a clash of thoughts among 1.5 billion plus Muslims. Many 'Would be martyrs’, pledge to sacrifice for the respect of their beloved Prophet at the tomb of legendary Gazi Ilm Din. He got death sentence by the British Indian court because he chose to kill a blasphemous Hindu Publisher. Gazi Ilm Din is now a symbol of Anti-Blasphemy: A Martyr- A holy Saint among millions of Muslims in Pakistan. Canadian Imam Syed B. Soherwardy who appealed in Human Rights Commission on the reprinting of these blasphemous cartoons in Canada analyses ‘Hate’ as the prime cause and foresee a threat of ‘A Next Holocaust against Muslims’. Siraj Wahhaj, the African-American Muslim Scholar from New York rejects both: the agents of provocations and the fear of a clash. While Dalia Mogahed, Co-author of,” Who Speaks for Islam? What A Billion Muslims Really Think", explains the ‘trigger and the cause’ behind this violence and conveys the voices of the silent majority of a billion plus Muslims. Filmmaker Haris Sheikh raises the biblical question : as the future of millions of Muslim’s in the West, interfaith dialogue and the World peace depends on the result of this conflict of thoughts.
